Toyota's New Philippine-Made Car Uses More Local Parts

Toyota Motors Corporation has initiated the production of the revamped Vios compact sedan in the Philippines. The Japanese automaker is using more parts acquired from local suppliers in line with a government-led buildup of the manufacturing sector.

Toyota held a launch event on Thursday at a factory in the Laguna province. The newest Vios acquires 50% of pressed parts from inside the Philippines, compared with a little over 40% before.
