Toyota to Stop Selling Diesel Cars in the Baltic States Starting This Month
Toyota will no longer offer diesel cars to customers in the Baltic States. It will continue selling petrol and hybrid cars in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Toyota has described the reason for the decreasing interest in diesel-powered cars in the Baltic States.
People’s interest in diesel cars is declining every year. It can be seen in the historical figures. In 2011 39 percent of all cars sold by Toyota in the Baltics were diesel, 3 percent hybrid, and 58 percent petrol engine cars, then the share of people preferring hybrid cars rose to 27 percent last year. Diesel cars’ share fell to 20 percent while petrol cars accounted for 53 percent.
