Ministry of Commerce Approves Tax Payment System for Imported Cars

Ministry of Commerce has approved a tax payment mechanism for the payment of duty and taxes on import of vehicles under gift schemes, transfer of residence and personal baggage. It is a mechanism devised by State Bank of Pakistan.

According to this mechanism, if vehicles are imported “under personal baggage, gift schemes, or transfer of residence the remittance for the payment of duties and taxes should originate from the bank account of Pakistan’s national sending the vehicle from abroad”.
