Self Driving Cars by Nissan Will Be in Market By 2020
Nissan, one of the giant automakers of Japan will introduce first ever self driving car by year 2020. Now motorists can give their cars computer a free hand to drive the car. The Japanese automaker has started building a synthetic cityscape consisting of real buildings and roads to test this revolutionary self drive technology. CEO Nissan Carlos Ghosn said that he is committed to introduce this new and ground breaking technology, Autonomous Drive, by 2020 and we will surely bring it to reality.
With the launch of Nissan Leaf in 2010, Nissan broke ground and now it is aiming to build a self driving car that can be sold at realistic price. To help drivers park the car and avoid collision, Nissan has started testing its safety shield technology which uses a 360 degree system of cameras and sensor.
Autonomous Drive will increase safety and accident avoidance and allow drivers to save their time by choosing the shortest path to any destination. This technology will also be very much helpful for elderly and disabled people.
In next year, Nissan will complete a proving ground for testing this technology. Company said that this ground will have real townscapes, not mockups. It will be used to push vehicle testing beyond the possible limits on public roads to ensure the safety of technology.
