Another successful year for Honda in United Kingdom as the company has been honored by the award of the most reliable used car manufacturer of UK for the eighth consecutive year.
The research was carried out on the basis of 50,000 Warranty Direct policies that cover 3 to 8 years old and used vehicle. Once again Japanese automaker has topped the 2013 reliability survey conducted by “What Car?” and warranty provider “Warranty Direct”.
All the Japanese Brands were there in Top Ten list except the Chevrolet, Ford and Hyundai. These three were the only non-Japanese brands included in the list. Surprisingly, Porsche, Land Rover and Bentley gained the bottom place.
In previous years the cars were rated on the basis of Reliability index. This index was based on how many times a car failed, the average time spent in a workshop, repairing cost, their age and mileage. The average was the total of hundred and the higher score; the worse a car was rated.
Over reliable models were the Mitsubishi Lancer ('05-'08) and the Vauxhall Agila ('00-'08).Least reliable car was RS6 from Audi and Porsche 911 was the most expensive car to repair with an average repair bill of 1,157. The single biggest repair was 12,820 and it was claimed by Range Rover.
