Uber to Use Facial Recognition Technology for Driver Safety in UAE

Uber in Dubai introduced facial recognition technology for UAE drivers. It is a driver verification that uses facial recognition. It is for the safety of drivers and riders.

Drivers will occasionally be asked to share a selfie before getting on the ride. It will make it sure that driver who is using the app is matching the Uber account

In case two photos do not match account will be locked and Uber will look into the matter.

The new safety feature is also being announced in other countries like Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and some other countries.
