Vice Chairman of Nissan,Mr, Uchiyamada announced that they will be following the foot prints of Japanese giant automaker Toyota and abandon all the plans to roll out fully electrical vehicles. The father of the Prius, Takeshi Uchiyamada said that we will abandon to supply fully electrical vehicles due to the shortcomings in terms of driving range, recharging time and also because of the cost. He said that we need something new and better than this as this is not the proper replacement for conventional cars.
Both the giant automakers Nissan and Toyota said that the recent technology of batteries will make the fully electrical vehicles impartial. Automakers will be concentrating to develop fuel cell cars that will convert hydrogen to electricity until the best alternative in shape of more affordable and efficient battery technology becomes available.
On the other side, White House has taken a step back from the plan of making electrical vehicles in spite of Obama’s is focusing on Green Technology. The administration of Obama announced the abandoning of the goal to put 1 million fully electrical vehicles on the road by 2015. President Obama will recommend more affordable and advanced vehicles plan for upcoming nine years instead.
But The Energy Secretary Steven Chu is continued mentioning the 2015 target in one of his speeches at Washington D.C Auto Show. He also mentioned that this very important to be on the right path whether we meet our goal in 2015 or 2016. Adding to the electrical vehicles confusion, there are many giant automakers are developing highly efficient internal combustion engines. These engines will get excellent mileage from gasoline and will also provide the stiff competition for battery powered vehicles. Even the Ford is reconsidering the plans of futures and canceled the hybrid version of the Escape.
