Volkswagen has launched a new sub-brand dedicated to producing affordable electric vehicles for Latin American markets, especially Brazil and Mexico. The initial model is expected to cost under $20,000 and will be manufactured in VW’s Puebla facility in Mexico.

VW aims to leverage local supply chains, regional battery partnerships, and simplified design to keep costs down. The move is positioned to counter Chinese imports and increasing local competition in the entry EV segment.
