BMW unveiled a test model equipped with a solid-state battery capable of delivering roughly 30% more driving range and achieving 10-minute charge times for 80% capacity. The prototype, shown at BMW’s joint battery symposium, represents the automaker’s roadmap toward next-gen EVs.

BMW plans limited production of solid-state packs by 2027, starting with its high-end i-Series. The company says it will continue using advanced lithium-ion cells in mainstream models until scaling and cost hurdles are resolved.
