GM Invested 154 Million Dollars for Production of EV Motor Components
On Friday, General Motors announced plans to invest nearly $154 million in its Lockport Components plant in West New York. The investment will be used to renovate the facility, as well as purchase and install new machinery and equipment used in the production of the stator module, a key component of electric vehicle electric motors. The plans include building a $1.5 billion electric vehicle battery plant near Lansing, Michigan with LG Energy Solutions, GM's battery partner. GM's Orion assembly plant will be converted to produce electric vehicles as part of a $2 billion repair project.
