Mercedes-Benz introduces Zero-Emission Electric Truck
The eActro is Mercedes Benz' first zero-emissions commercial electric truck and will help the EU meet its climate and emissions targets. The company began testing a fleet of ten eActros prototypes in 2018 with customers in Germany and other European countries. The truck will be available in four different configurations with 3 or 4 batteries. Each battery has a capacity of about 105 kW. When equipped with 4 batteries, the maximum power is 420 kWh, providing a range of up to 400 kilometers (248 miles). eActros can be recharged at speeds of up to 160 kW when connected to a regular 400A DC charging station. Charging the battery to 80% takes just over an hour.
