Tesla's First Made In China V3 Supercharger Now Online in Shenzhen
Tesla build a factory to make electric vehicle chargers in Shanghai last year, to expand its charging network in China. The V3 Supercharger will be online on May 20. Tesla says the V3 Supercharger will ultimately reduce the amount of time customers spend charging their vehicles by an average of 50%, based on fleet data compiled by the company. Tesla says that its Supercharger V3 supports a maximum charge rate of up to 250 kW, which is more than double the output of the Supercharger V2, which provides a charge rate of 120 kW. In March, Tesla's charging network in China grew to 6,000 Superchargers, with more to come.
