Mercedes Benz Launches EQS Electric Sedan

Mercedes Benz has been teasing the next EQS electric sedan for two years by rolling out various concepts. Now the vehicle has been inaugurated in production form for the first time. The EQS will be available in two versions, the rear-wheel drive EQS 450+ and the all-wheel drive EQS 580 4-Matic. The 107.8 kWh portable battery can power the EQS 580 from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. Acceleration to these speeds took a little longer for the 450+ at 6.2 seconds. Mercedes Benz has confirmed that the EQS electric sedan will provide a range of around 770 km. The estimated range of 479 miles easily surpasses the Long Range Model S, the current leader in the luxury electric sedan segment. In addition to the EQS sedan, Mercedes Benz will soon introduce a pair of SUVs that will be based on the same electric vehicle architecture (EVA platform) that supports the EQS sedans.
