Every Tesla did not Upholds its Estimated Range in Edmunds Tests

The 2018 Tesla Model 3's performance was the most terrible offender. The EPA claims the sedan has a range of 310 miles, but Edmunds found that the range of the electric car in the real world is closer to 256 miles. That's a 17.4 percent difference. 2020 Model X Long Range (294 miles vs. 328 miles), 2020 Model Y Performance (263 miles vs. 291 miles), 2020 Model 3 Standard Range Plus (232 miles vs. 250 miles), and 2020 Model S Performance (318 miles ) up to 326 miles) did not match EPA figures in Edmunds tests. Teslas is not the only one who has failed to match the EPA numbers. The 2021 Polestar 2 performance claimed a range of 233 miles, but Edmunds only covered 228 miles on a single charge.
