Tesla Recalled the Model S and X Vehicles to Replace the Defective Display Unit
Tesla was suppressed by the U.S. National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to retract the vehicle due to touch screen damage caused by the flash memory control unit (MCU). An initial US investigation was launched in June 2020 after the NHTSA said it was reviewing 12,523 claims and complaints from Tesla owners about display issues and random screen restarts while driving. Tesla Motors says it will replace the 8GB eMMC with an updated version equipped with 64GB of Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory which offers protection against memory failures. The repair will be free for Tesla owners in China.
