Tesla's Newest Competitor, the Base Model Porsche Taycan 2021 Starts at $ 79,900

Porsche has finally launched its most affordable Taycan electric sedan starting at $ 79,900. The Taycan 4S is the most affordable model in the Porsche lineup in North America with a starting price of $ 103,800. The high-end 670-hp Taycan Turbo starts at $ 150,900. The rear-wheel drive design on the standard Taycan delivers 402 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of peak torque from its electric powertrain. Porsche claims the base Taycan can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.1 seconds. Top speed of 143 mph. Customers can also opt for the Performance Battery Plus option, which increases horsepower to 469 with 263 lb.-ft. of torque. For the optional battery pack, Porsche replaces the Taycan's standard 79.2 kWh lithium-ion pack with a bigger 93.4 kWh unit.
