Volkswagen is rapidly expanding the infrastructure for electric vehicle charging in Germany
Volkswagen is expanding its freight infrastructure significantly in its home country, Germany. The automaker plans to introduce more than 20 new electric cars over the next few years to become one of the world's leaders in producing battery-powered cars. Volkswagen said 750 new charging points are slated for next year, including the first "high-power charging stations" that provide up to 300 kilowatts of power. By next year, about 2,000 charging points are expected to be operational, a 50% increase over the current figure.
