Car Sales Increased 29% Year Over Year
According to the latest report from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), the industry sold 14,054 units in October 2020, up from 10,853 vehicles in October 2019. However, if we add the sales statistics of KIA Lucky Motors (not a member of PAMA), sales were seen on an annual basis up 43% last month. The report says Indus Motor (IMC) and Honda Atlas saw sales increases of 120% year-over-year and 61%, respectively. Indus Motors sold 5,481 cars last month, up from 2,496 cars the same month the year before. The company's Yaris was the main seller with 3,058 units reaching the road. Interestingly, the Yaris posted more sales than the Honda City and Civic combined. Additionally, Honda sold 2,230 units, down from just 1,384 units in October 2019. However, the sales of Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) were down 13% year-over-year. 6,054 cars sold in October 2020 compared to 6,973 in the same month of the previous year.
