Auto Industry at Risk, Zero Car Sales in April 2020
For the first time in the history of the Pakistani auto industry, it has not produced or sold a single unit of passenger cars in a month. The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) released car, motorcycle, SUV and truck sales for April, and at a glance you can see that the industry due to coronavirus and blockade disappeared downhill. Toyota, Suzuki, and Honda did not sell or produce a single unit of their cars in April 2020, however, Toyota sold 5,256 Corolla units in April 2019 and 2,089 units in March 2020, while Suzuki sold 453 units, 2,191 units. and 2,641 units of Swift, Cultus, and Wagon R in April 2019. Note that the company did not even sell or produce a single unit of its Alto 660cc in April 2020.
