Pakistan’s Auto Industry Halts Production Due To Coronavirus
The recent provincial government lockout and the threat of rapid spread of the coronavirus across the country have forced Pakistani automakers to stop manufacturing vehicles. This is a bold move given that Pakistan's auto sector is already going through difficult times due to inflation, taxes and the devaluation of the rupee. Only time will tell how much this pandemic and the ensuing lock-in will affect the already struggling auto industry in Pakistan. Currently, automakers have halted operations in countries like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina. , the Philippines and the United States.
