Toyota wants to put a ‘Robot Friend’ in Every Home
Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world. From its beginning, it has produced enough cars that a car can be placed outside every Japanese home. But, the Japanese automaker wants to put a robot inside every home.
The Japanese automaker sees a near future in which robots transcend the factory and become commonplace in homes- helping with chores. Additionally, they will offer companionship in a society where a large number of peoples live alone.
Machines have become smarter in the last some years. Still, it becomes challenging to build the perfect machines as every attempt encounters the same basic, physical problem: the robots get too powerful and dangerous.
Well, the Japanese automaker has a new artificial intelligence research center, US$29 billion in cash reserves, and the famous inventor, Gill Prat, heading its effort.
Toyota has been experimenting with robots since at least 2004. In 2004, the Japanese automaker revealed a trumpet-playing humanoid with artificial lips, lungs and movable fingers that could partner with an actual human orchestra.
