Japanese, US Brands Recall Faulty Vehicles in UAE

Three global automakers announced a recall of thousands of vehicles in the UAE. The recall is triggered by mechanical problems and the customers are assured that the defective products will be replaced free of cost.

The Nissan distributors in the UAE, Arabian Automobiles and Al-Masaood Automobiles, have initiated a recall campaign affecting 4,145 vehicles manufactured in 2017. The affected vehicles include commercial van Urvan, saloon car Sentra, and 4x4 Patrol.

The vehicles have been recalled due to internal ignition switch spring that can break with repeated usage and when heavy items are fastened to the key.

The company will swap, if necessary, the ignition switch with a new one and the customers will be charged nothing.

Similarly, distributors of General Motors and its Chevrolet brand have also announced a recall of some of their models due to mechanical problems.
