To avoid damaging the finish of your car, it is best to use this convenient method of washing your car. You will only need a few materials and no overpriced or hard-to-find products.

Simple Cleaning Methods:

No one can wash a car efficiently by rushing. The more you take your time and enjoy the process, the more you will avoid the mistakes that come from cleaning done too quickly.

Start by cleaning the dirtiest areas, then work from bottom to top in long, parallel strokes;
Do not clean the car if it has been in direct sunlight. A hot car dries too quickly, leaving soap marks. Move it to the shade and wait for it to cool;
Fill a bucket with hot water and reserve it for rinsing. Fill a second bucket with lukewarm (not hot) water and add a car cleaner. It might be tempting to use dish detergent or other household cleaning products, but these are too abrasive and could damage the car's polish or even scratch it.
Take a clean sponge and rinse it thoroughly. Work from top to bottom, and not in circles, as this may leave streaks on the car's polish.
Remember to rinse well and wring out your sponge using the rinse bucket. This will further reduce the chances of dust and dirt falling into your bucket of soapy water and scratching your polish. Keeping your sponge is a simple task, but an important one.
After soaping and washing your car, take a hose and rinse the car with large jets of water from the top down. This method allows the car to retain its shine as it dries.
When you are done rinsing, take a clean chamois and dry the car. Leaving a car to dry in the open can leave marks, and driving a car that is still wet increases the chances of it getting dirty again.
